Antique Chinese Farmers Rake
- Only 2 items left
Antique wooden hand hay rake with all-wood construction and traditional wooden tines. Crafted from hickory or ash, these implements were essential farm tools throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries, used for gathering, turning, and spreading freshly mown grass or cured hay.
The rope-bound cross-brace at the handle junction reinforces the rake head, distributing pressure evenly across the wood to prevent splitting during heavy field work. Each piece carries the patina of its working life, a testament to sturdy craftsmanship and rural heritage.
A functional antique with authentic character—ideal as a farmhouse accent or for collectors of primitive agricultural tools.
