Marzi and Remy Blue and Grey MR marked tankards with pewter lids from the famous German pottery firm founded in 1879. By the end of the 18th Century the factory had become the leading German stoneware producer. The impressed MR letters mark (on the bottom of the tankards) was used from 1964. The factory closed down permanently in 1994. Early Marzi & Remy items are seldom marked. They are usually identified from old factory catalogues.
